Time Blossoms

Time blossoms
As I put pen to paper.
As I make words appear.
As the words fill the paper
From end to end.

Time blossoms
In monochrome
Black and white
Roses of words.

Tick, tick ticked
Seconds
And
Minute minutes
Bloom like hydrangeas
And snowball bushes
And smell thick
Like the blackest of ink.

Then.

Then.

Then, my mind becomes quiet.
My writing is done for the day.

Time shrivels.
Shrivels like
Rejected lines
Rejected words
Rejected pages
Crumpled up white
Like a snowball.

I can’t wait
To start again
Tomorrow.
