Winter Garden

The garden sleeps through the winter.

The daffodils doze.

The tulips twilight-dream of sunlight and bees.

The roses yearn for butterflies.

The hummingbird vines huddle under their snow blankets and wait for the hummingbirds to return.

The garden is silent and asleep. It will wake when spring comes.

Until then, I will sleep too.
