Pretty Poison

Pretty poison in a bottle.
Mint green sweetness.
Victorian edged label.
Tell me if I am tempting you.

Pretty poison waiting
For someone with a careless hand.
Come.
Pull the cork out and release me.

It’s an easy enough thing to do.
The cork is loose.
The cork is weak.
Take it and pull it out.
Come and set me free.

Pretty Poison
Such Pretty Poison.
I’m a genie waiting to be set free.
And I have been waiting for so long.
Spiderwebs have started to form on me.

I’m Pretty Poison.
Delicate, fancy, Pretty Poison.
Sparkly, pastel, pretty minty green.
Are you interested?
Am I tempting you?

If so,
Set me free.
