Writing about Heaven

028

One of my friends at work recently lost her Dad and it got me thinking about Heaven.

Everyone has an idea of what Heaven is and what Heaven is like. Who is there. Who is not there. The everlasting white clouds in the perfect blue sky. In Return of the King, Gandalf says “The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass.  And then you see it… White shores… and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.”

We know that there will be no more suffering or pain or war in Heaven. No more jealousy. No more racial tensions. No suicide bombers. There will be perfect peace and joy and beauty. We will see God face to face. His glory and beauty will astound us and fill our souls with love and unbounded happiness.

In the Bible, it says that “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither hath it entered into the heart of man, what things God hath prepared for them that love him.” It is an amazing and comforting thought. God has prepared a beautiful place for us to be with Him forever. If we will love Him and obey Him in this world, we will be with Him forever happy in the next.
